Kaffe Fassett comes to Wales!
What an AMAZING day out today. The Coach House organised a trip to the Kaffe Fassett quilt exhibition at the Welsh Quilt Centre in Lampeter. What a treat. I can’t believe how much the exhibition completely blew me away. It absolutely surpassed my expectations.
As I walked through the door to the exhibition I was stunned. The walls of the gallery were hung with a full colour palette of traditional Welsh quilts, whilst Kaffe’s quilts were suspended from the ceiling throughout the room. I am not a wordsmith so can’t really explain how overwhelming and beautiful they looked. It was a very emotional experience.
You can’t really tell from the picture how breathtaking this exhibition is. I would highly recommend that you go along so you can experience it for yourself. The exhibition is open until November and is definitely worth a visit.
My favourite quilt was the ‘Imari Plate’.
Here is a little sample of my favourite bit …
I was desperate to get hold of some of that fabric and thought I was going to have to do some research to figure out how to get some. I couldn’t believe it when I popped into Calico Kate’s next door and she had some in there! I bought a fat quarter in the bright pink colourway.
I am going to treasure that bit of fabric for a long, long time.
